Visiting the Colosseum

The Colosseum is possibly one of the most visited sites in Rome. It is centrally located so it makes it easy access to the many tourist that visit it each year. One of the great perks of visiting the Coloseum is that it is walking distance from both the Arch of Constantine and the Roman Forum. The heaviest tourist time is during June and July which can sometimes make this a difficult time to explore but it is also one of the best times to go. The Colosseum stays open later in these months so it is a beautiful sight to see it all lit up. If you are looking for quick and easy, then the winter months are for you.

The Colosseum is sometimes referred to as the Flavian Amphitheater, during the roman empire this served as one of the largest amphitheaters. The coliseum is well known for its gladiatorial battle and wild animal fights in its early days.
When visiting the Colosseum, there are many options for tickets and other fares. They also offer tours in Italian, English, and Spanish. Lines are generally very long to get tickets so it is suggested to purchase them ahead of time to avoid the wait. People can purchase one ticket for a 2-day pass to the Colosseum , Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum. Getting to the Colosseum should be a breeze since most hop on/off buses make a stop there.
So helpful hints when planning your all inclusive vacation to Rome would be 1. Purchase your tickets ahead of time or get to the Coliseum before 8:30 AM.
2. Purchase a Roma Pass (this will give you access to many different sites)

3. Stay somewhere near the Coliseum to make travel easy.
4. Avoid the street vendors.

5. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water!
For your all inclusive vacation you have many options to make your trip great. When going to the Colosseum, plan atleast 45 minutes. Even longer if you have certain things you are interested in. Overall, going to the three different places will last the entire day!
